It includes: \n\ntypes of younger onset dementia\, signs and symptoms\nthe impact of younger onset dementia\nunderstanding changes in communication and behaviour\nstarting points for planning ahead\nan overview of services and supports.\n\nSuitable for: People recently diagnosed with younger onset dementia and their family carers and family members. This session is not intended as professional education for workers in the health or aged care sectors. \nDementia Australia’s facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge\, skills and experience. This program is not suitable for professionals employed in the health or aged care sectors. \nThis program runs over 4 sessions on a Wednesday\, for 2 hours each session. Suitable for people living with dementia and their family/carers.\n\n\nThis program provides guidance for people living with dementia\, their family members and family carers to plan for the future\, once they have come to terms with a diagnosis of dementia and understand the symptoms and impacts of dementia. \nIt includes topics such as accommodation and living arrangements\, financial considerations\, decision-making\, planning health care\, options for people in employment\, and strategies for communicating and implementing plans. \nSuitable for: People living with dementia and their family carers and family members. Participants should have a good understanding of dementia and feel ready to think about the future in detail. This program is not intended as professional education for workers employed in the health or aged care sectors. \nThis program runs over 5 sessions on every Thursday\, and each session is two hours and a half.
