SUMMARY:Great Cocky Count - a training workshop with Birdlife WA
DESCRIPTION:Join BirdLife WA and learn how to get involved with the Great Cocky Count (GCC) – the largest survey of Black-Cockatoos in WA!\n\n\nJoin BirdLife WA in the Shire of Mundaring and become a citizen scientist by getting involved with the Great Cocky Count (GCC) – the largest survey of Black-Cockatoos in WA. This workshop will provide training to volunteers to take part in the official count on the12th of April. \nLocal ornithologist Simon Cherriman will also be a part of the conversation to share his insights and observations on the species’ breeding over the season here in the Shire of Mundaring and beyond! \nPlus\, we’re thrilled to announce that you’ll meet Princess Rex\, a beautiful Baudins cockatoo\, along with Sam Clarke from the Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre. Participants will learn about Black Cockatoo conservation and how to identify these magnificent birds while enjoying a close-up encounter. \nBring the kids along—we’ll have Eco-Educator extraordinaire Cathy Levett on hand to keep them engaged while you take in the important information. \nTea and coffee provided. Help us reduce waste by bringing your reusable keep cup. \nThis workshop is supported by funding from the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program.
