DESCRIPTION:An exhibition of paintings by Narrm/Melbourne based artist Jemi Gale. Her paintings hold hands through doorways\, and their arrangement transforms in companionship. \n\n\npromise to sing for you is an exhibition of paintings by artist Jemi Gale\, created while in residence at Goolugatup Heathcote.\n\nIn her work\, Jemi memorialises her friendships: quoting their bold one-liners\, collecting remnants from hanging out\, collaborating on paintings\, and looking back over the rushed and candid photos they take of one another. These new works are exhibited across two adjoining rooms\, acting like the bridges that friends make to span physical and emotional distance. Jemi’s paintings hold hands through doorways\, and their arrangement transforms into companionship. \nGallery hours | Tuesday to Sunday | 10.00am to 4.00pm.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the next edition of 𝚅𝙷𝚂 𝚃𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙿𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜… – Goolugatup’s free\, artist-led film club. \nThe program invites local artists to present a wide-ranging selection of art films\, classics\, and new wave cinema. Curated by iconic Boorloo film critic Tristan Fidler\, the creator of the celebrated local VHS Tracking film zine\, and hosted by Goolugatup Gallery monthly. \n✮✮✮ \nVHS Tracking Presents…. TIME SPACE MOTION (2017) + RE-RECORDER with Tone List \nIn this edition\, Tone List (Annika Moses & Josten Myburgh) will be presenting Shinkan Tamaki’s Time Space Motion and the ‘imageless’ film Re-Recorder. \n· Doors 6:30pm \n· Film Starts 7:00pm \nPlease note: there will be an Intermission break halfway through. \n✮✮✮ \nTIME SPACE MOTION \nThe light through the window was recorded at time compressed to one hundred twentieth during the season when the altitude of the sun is the lowest. The light deeply went into architecture lighted up form of space and expression of the structure. I imagine the existence of the atmosphere and infinite course of the light through flickering variation. If time is defined as a motion of sunlight by Earth’s rotation\, I can say that I’m observing ‘time’ as well as space and light. \nRE-RECORDER \nThis release initiates a series of propositions between Bonnetta and Hamann exploring film sound design as a relation of anecdotal music. Each side is composed of location recordings\, musical fragments\, foley\, in-studio recordings\, outtakes\, and sketches gleaned from various re-recording processes. In the absence of images\, these sound propositions reflect on the possibilities of a particular form of ‘aural cinema\,’ of fictional spaces constructed from the reordering and recasting of documentary and documentation. \n✮✮✮ \nPresenter/s: Tone List \nTone List is an artist-run\, Boorloo-based label for exploratory music. It is dedicated to the nurturing of approaches to music-making which receive little or no attention in existing structures on the west coast of this continent\, especially where those approaches are radical or novel.
