DESCRIPTION:The Avon Descent Festival returns to Lilac Hill with a splash in 2026. \nJoin us on the banks of the Swan River at Lilac Hill Park\, Caversham\, to watch a portion of the incredible two-day 124km adventure challenge. \nEntry is free. \nEnjoy a day full of exciting activities and entertainment for the whole family\, including: \n\nKid Zone – giant bubbles\, friendship bracelet making\, face painting\, hair braiding bar\, glitter tattoos and more\nFree amusement rides\, including dodgem bumper cars\nRoaming entertainment\nArtisan markets\nFood trucks\nCommunity activations.\n\nAnd so much more. \nOnce again\, we’re proud to be single-use plastic-free\, so bring your refillable water bottles. \nDogs on leads welcome. \nParking and shuttle information\nIn addition to parking available at Lilac Hill Park\, overflow parking will be available at Taylor’s Park\, with complimentary shuttle buses operating continuously between the two locations throughout the event. \nTraffic management measures and parking marshals will be in place to help attendees. For everyone’s safety and to ensure the smooth flow of traffic\, please follow all directions provided by traffic controllers and parking marshals. \nAlternatively\, attendees may wish to catch the train to Guildford Station and enjoy a short walk to the event. \nThe Avon Descent Festival is proudly presented by the City of Swan and Perth Airport\, and supported by Lotterywest and the Plastic Free River Park Program.

There will be more parking\, including a designated area for ACROD users.\nGuildford Train Station is a 5 – 10-minute walk or jump aboard the Shuttle Bus\, which will drop you at the venue.\nDress to impress in your finest Medieval garb and make your way to the Guildford Medieval Fayre\, where we will transport you back in time to the Medieval era.\nYou’ll see knights in armour battle it out in a combat ring.\nHear the enchanting sounds of wandering minstrels.\nExplore the vibrant realm of Medieval hobbies\, crafts\, and trades.\nTake part in fun\, interactive activities and crafts suitable for all ages.\nExplore over 120 market stalls showcasing medieval-inspired and handcrafted treasures.\nFeast on tasty food and soak up the fun atmosphere of medieval music and dance!\nForgotten to dress the part. Feeling left out? Don’t worry\, Medieval costume hire will be available on the day.
