SUMMARY:Gardening for Wildlife with Simon Cherriman and the Wildflower Society
DESCRIPTION:Create a wildlife-friendly garden! Join Simon Cherriman for a guided walk and Wildflower Society seed propagation demonstrations.\n\n\nJoin us for a special Gardening for Wildlife event with Simon Cherriman and our local Wildflower Society\, designed to inspire and support local residents in creating thriving\, wildlife-friendly gardens. \nThe session will begin with a guided walk through the garden at the Octagonal Hall\, where Simon will share insights into selecting appropriate native plants for properties in the Shire of Mundaring. Learn how to choose species that suit local conditions while providing habitat and food for native wildlife. \nFollowing the walk\, a volunteer from the Wildflower Society will lead practical demonstrations on seed propagation\, including techniques such as hot water and smoke water germination\, and will be available to answer your questions. \nEach attendee will receive a complimentary packet of seeds to get started at home. Additional seeds will also be available for purchase prior to the much-anticipated Native Plant Sale taking place the following week—perfect for those keen to expand their garden. Eastern Hills Annual Plant Sale – 9th May 2026 – Wildflower Society of Western Australia \nThe library will be open during the event\, and there will be opportunities for informal discussions and advice throughout the session. \nWhether you’re new to gardening or looking to enhance your existing space\, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn\, connect\, and grow.
