Be Connected – Tablet and iPad basics course @ Karrinyup Library

Be Connected is an Australia-wide program designed to help adults build confidence with using technology and learn basic digital skills.

Be Connected – Tablet and iPad basics course for beginners

Learn the basics of how to use a tablet or iPad, including how to navigate your device, accessing basic apps, searching the Internet and using email.

This short course is suitable for adults who are beginner level only (you will be learning basic digital skills).

Bookings are essential as places are limited and you must commit to attending all five sessions.

Date: Fortnightly on Tuesdays (from Tuesday 19th July 2022 – Tuesday 13th September 2022)

Time: 10.30am – 12.00noon (please arrive by 10.20am for a prompt 10.30pm start)

Venue: Stirling Libraries – Karrinyup, Davenport Street, Karrinyup WA 6018

Tea and coffee will be provided: Attendees are encouraged to BYO reusable coffee cup.

What to bring: Please bring your own device (tablets or iPads only).

Session topics:

  1. Tuesday 19th July: Introduction to Be Connected
  2. Tuesday 2nd August: Tablet and iPad basics 1 of 2
  3. Tuesday 16th August: Tablet and iPad basics 2 of 2
  4. Tuesday 30th August : Internet basics
  5. Tuesday 13th September: Email basics

Be Connected programs are funded by Good Things Foundation and the Australian Government Department of Social Services. Participants’ contact details will be added to the Good Things Network: Be Connected Learning Management System. The details will be used for tracking your progress against funded learning programmes run by Good Things Foundation, reporting and improving products in line with their privacy policy. They will be shared between Stirling Libraries, Good Things Foundation and The Australian Government Department of Social Services. Your details will never be sold on to any other third parties.

This short course is suitable for adults who are beginner level only (you will be learning basic digital skills).

Q2. Can I only attend one / a few of the sessions?

No, you must commit to attending all five sessions. The content is progressive, so each new session builds on what you have learnt in the previous session.

Q3. What do I need to bring to the session?

Please bring your own device (tablets and iPads only).

Q4. What are my transport / parking options for getting to and from the venue?

Stirling Libraries – Karrinyup is located next to Karrinyup Shopping Centre, Davenport Street, Karrinyup WA 6018.

Limited parking is available outside the library building. Additional shopping centre parking bays are available to access from Davenport Street. For public transport options, visit the Transperth website.
