Be Connected – Tablet and iPad basics course @ Scarborough Library

Be Connected is an Australia-wide program designed to help adults build confidence with using technology and learn basic digital skills.

Be Connected – Tablet and iPad basics

Learn the basics of how to use a tablet or IPad, including how to navigate your device, accessing basic apps, searching the Internet and using email.

This short course is suitable for adults who are beginner level only (you will be learning basic digital skills).

Bookings are essential as places are limited and you must commit to attending all five sessions.

Date: Fortnightly on Mondays (from Monday 25 July – Monday 19 September 2022)

Time: 1.00pm – 2.30pm (please arrive by 12.50pm for a prompt 1.00pm start)

Venue: Stirling Libraries – Scarborough, 173 Gildercliffe Street, Scarborough 6019 WA

Tea and coffee will be provided: Attendees are encouraged to BYO reusable coffee cup.

What to bring: Please bring your own device (tablet or iPad only).

1. Monday 25 July: Introduction to Be Connected

2. Monday 8 August: Tablet and iPad basics 1 of 2

3. Monday 22 August: Tablet and iPad basics 2 of 2

4. Monday 5 September: Internet basics

5. Monday 19 September: Email basics

Be Connected programs are funded by Good Things Foundation and the Australian Government Department of Social Services. Participants’ contact details will be added to the Good Things Network: Be Connected Learning Management System. The details will be used for tracking your progress against funded learning programmes run by Good Things Foundation, reporting and improving products in line with their privacy policy. They will be shared between Stirling Libraries, Good Things Foundation and The Australian Government Department of Social Services. Your details will never be sold on to any other third parties.


Q1. Who can attend this course?

This short course is suitable for adults who are beginner level only (you will be learning basic digital skills).

Q2. Can I only attend one / a few of the sessions?

No, you must commit to attending all five sessions. The content is progressive, so each new session builds on what you have learnt in the previous session.

Q3. What do I need to bring to the session?

Please bring your own device (tablet or iPad only)or let staff know if you need to use one of the library’s devices.

Q4. What are my transport / parking options for getting to and from the venue?

Stirling Libraries – Scarborough is located within the Scarborough Community Hub, 173 Gildercliffe Street, Scarborough WA 6019.

Free parking is available directly in front of the library building and further along Gildercliffe Street next to Stirling Leisure Centre. For public transport options, visit the Transperth website.
