SUMMARY:Travel Writing Workshop + Q&A with Cassie Wilkins
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 90-minute travel writing workshop and Q+A with local writer and creative mentor\, Cassie Wilkins. \nWhether you dream of seeing your words in the world\, want to work on capturing your adventures more vividly in your journal\, or are simply curious about the art of storytelling\, this interactive workshop will offer insight\, inspiration\, and practical tools to bring your experiences to life. \nLike travel itself\, travel writing can take many shapes – from memoir and magazine features to personal essays\, blogs\, and reflective journals. Cassie’s own journey in the industry has followed a similar arc: from her early days as a travel agent and trip planner to spending six years as a globe-trotting travel writer collaborating with tourism brands and major publications\, before settling into a slower season of road trips\, ghost towns\, and memoir writing. \nThe session will include guided writing exercises and time for sharing\, questions\, and discussion. All experience levels are welcome. Tea\, coffee and snacks provided. \nWalyo Room | Fremantle Library \nBook Now

SUMMARY:A Photographic History of P&O in Australia @ Clarkson Library
DESCRIPTION:Join Chris Frame as he takes a look back at the long and varied history of the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O). \n\nFollowing the recent closure of P&O Cruises Australia\, a long chapter of maritime history in the Southern Hemisphere has come to an end. But where did it all start? The heritage of P&O can be traced back to the dawn of passenger shipping\, when Arthur Anderson and Brodie McGhie Willcox formed a company to service the Iberian Peninsula. It grew to become a mainstay of Australian shipping\, from the first steam services and the transport of troops in two world wars to its final era as a dedicated cruise line. \nChris Frame Bio\nChris Frame is an Australian maritime historian\, author\, and lecturer known for his accessible storytelling about ocean liners and passenger‑ship history. His passion began in childhood and grew during his first voyage on QE2\, inspiring him to co‑author QE2: A Photographic Journey in 2008. He has since written over a dozen maritime history books\, appeared as an expert on BBC\, CNN\, Channel 5\, and ABC Radio\, and is a regular speaker on cruise ships\, in museums\, and at public events. Chris also runs a popular YouTube channel and co‑hosts a cruise‑industry podcast with Rachelle Cross. \nBook now
