Community conversation – multicultural men’s experiences of cancer

September 1 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Group discussion to to find out more about cancer information and improve the cancer journey experience for people in diverse communities.

Have your say! – Cancer Information

Have you had an experience of cancer and do you want to help improve things for for others receiving a cancer diagnosis?

Join us to discuss the information you were given and what else might have helped your on your journey.

We are looking to speak to:

  • People from diverse multicultural backgrounds
  • People who have experiences of cancer treatment in WA (either as patients or carers)

We are particularly keen to speak to men and people living in regional areas.

This event is for multicultural men, hoping people feel more at ease when in a room with similar lived experience perspectives but we can link you to other events which are open to all people from multicultural backgrounds.

If you are not comfortable with a group discussion you can alternatively contact Health Consumers’ Council to arrange a one to one conversation (phone or face to face). Interpreters can be provided. We realise cancer patients are higher risk for COVID and that talking about cancer is not easy. As such we are very flexible.

Health Consumers Council (www.hconc.org.au) is a charity which supports consumers (patients, carers and families) accessing healthcare. We believe the only way to improve services is to speak to the people that use them!

All feedback is confidential. All data will be securely stored by Health Consumers’ Council. No participant names will be given to Department of Health and unnamed feedback used only for the purpose of improving cancer services. You will be paid for your time.

Contact Nadeen@hconc.org.au if you have any queries.
