Dad’s Army: Why Men Go To War And Other Stories

Join journalist and author Ron Banks as he talks about his latest book Dad’s Army: why men go to war and other stories. The book examines the war of his father’s generation through personal history and newspaper accounts of the time. It attempts to answer questions as to why men have volunteered for war in every generation, as well as those forced to war in Vietnam in his own generation. It also explores the way governments explained the war, and how they dealt with issues such as conscientious objection, internment, the economy, work exemptions and the role of women.
