Dementia without Loneliness presentation with Michael Verde
Hear from Michael Verde, an award-winning writer, speaker, documentary producer and globally recognised thought leader in the field of dementia care.
He founded Memory Bridge in 2003, leading the way forward for dementia friendly communities. Memory Bridge has connected over 9,000 people with dementia and people without dementia to each other. Currently, their programs are hosted on three continents and provides education to caregivers in 14 countries.
The presentation will:
1) identify the common factors contributing to the emotional isolation of people with dementia-related cognitive impairments.
2) introduce person-centred communication that mitigates/ends emotional isolation; and
3) illustrate person-centred communication with riveting video footage.
Light refreshments will be provided.
