SUMMARY:Singing Mamas
DESCRIPTION:This event is FREE and proudly sponsored by the City of Armadale. This program runs weekly in the school term. \nSinging Mamas is a worldwide grassroots movement designed to bring women together through the simple joy of singing. Founded to support women’s wellbeing\, Singing Mamas creates a space where everyone is welcome — no auditions\, no sheet music\, and no musical experience required. Songs are taught by ear in an inclusive circle\, making it easy for anyone to join in. \nThe benefits go far beyond singing: research shows group singing can reduce stress\, lift mood\, and strengthen connection with others. Babies and children are always welcome\, so mums don’t need to worry about childcare. \nIn Perth\, Singing Mamas is led by Nicole George\, who runs groups in Armadale\, Wellard and Gosnells. Each session blends singing with time for tea\, coffee\, and conversation\, offering both joy and community. Women of all ages and life stages are invited to come along — whether you sing loudly\, softly\, or simply listen — and experience the warmth and connection of Singing Mamas. \n\nBook Online

SUMMARY:Exhibition | CAPUT MORTUUM
DESCRIPTION:A celebration of life\, death and other stories from artist Ian Foster. \nCaput Mortuum’ is a Latin phrase which translates into ‘deadhead’. The name is derived from a pigment; cardinal red; that is a very dense red- purple iron oxide pigment often used in portrait painting. In alchemy\, caput mortuum refers to the worthless residue that remains after a chemical process. \nThis eclectic multifaceted exhibition celebrates life and death in the form of social commentary. Through humour\, Ian Fosters’ collection of paintings\, ceramic sculptures and installations act as ruminations on existence\, transience and human mortality. \nAn artist and historian\, Fosters’ research and practice across a broad spectrum of media is inspired by the historical ambiguities and dichotomies that constitute this surreal world we share. Ian holds a B.A. at Edith Cowan University\, along with a postgraduate diploma in Curating and Museum Studies and a Master of Arts in Art History at the Australian National University. He has exhibited extensively nationally and internationally. \n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\nOpening Event\nFriday\, 13 February\n6.30pm to 8.00pm\nAtwell Gallery\n586 Canning Hwy\, Alfred Cove\n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\nExhibition Continues\nSaturday\, 14 February to Sunday\, 22 February\n10.00am to 4.00pm\nFree\, all welcome 😊 \n

SUMMARY:Valentine's Day Film
DESCRIPTION:Love is free at the City of Perth Library! \nJoin us on Valentine’s Day to celebrate all things love and friendship. Bring your beau\, your bestie or even your mum and enjoy a date\, with popcorn and free love on us. Film provided by Kanopy. \nDestination Wedding (2018) directed by Victor Levin\n\nWhen socially awkward Frank and Lindsay (Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder) meet on their way to a destination wedding\, they soon discover they have a lot in common: they both hate the bride\, the groom\, the wedding\, themselves\, and most especially each other. \nAs the weekend’s events continually force them together\, and their cheerlessness immediately isolates them from the other guests\, Frank and Lindsay find that if you verbally spar with someone long enough anything can happen.
