SUMMARY:How to Identify the Birds in Your Garden
DESCRIPTION:(For adults) \nJoin us for this dynamic and entertaining talk on how to recognise the different birds in your garden in the Shire of Mundaring and beyond. Discover the exciting differences in their looks\, calls and behaviour. \nDid you know research shows people are happier the more bird species there are in their gardens? Yet many of us don’t know how to identify them. Can you tell our honeyeaters apart\, for example? Some know the New Holland Honeyeater but not the White-cheeked\, some the Brown Honeyeater but not the Singing. To add to the confusion there are also parrots\, pigeons\, cuckoos\, wrens\, robins and more that visit our gardens. \nThis brilliantly illustrated and informative talk will help you sort them all out! It is interactive\, entertaining and practical and will increase your confidence in nailing the birds’ appearances\, calls and habits. \nOur energetic tag-team of bird enthusiasts and gardeners\, Mike and Rachel Green\, will share their wealth of knowledge about our local garden birds. Highlighting the birds will be Rachel’s not-to-be-missed bird photographs and videos and Mike’s amusing imitations of bird behaviour and stories of his bird-watching exploits. \nAs a bonus you are welcome to bring photographs or recordings of birds in your garden for Mike and Rachel to identify. \nThis is a follow-up to the enthusiastically received talk Rachel and Mike gave earlier in the year on “How to attract birds in your garden”. \nBookings are essential for this free event via Humanitix. Light refreshments will be available. You are encouraged to bring your own cup for tea/coffee or water. \nPlease let us know if you have any accessibility requirements.

SUMMARY:Chair Yoga 8 Week Program (Term 3) (Sold Out)
DESCRIPTION:Event is Sold Out. \nEach Friday afternoon you will be joined by accredited yoga instructor Diane Jones who will take you through one hour of chair yoga. \nYoga has been shown to increase strength and balance\, and to help reduce the risk of falls. Chair yoga uses a chair for stability to achieve yoga poses whilst having the same health benefits. Chair yoga is a fun and gentle way to achieve great health results including increasing flexibility and reducing stress.  \nPlaces are limited and registrations are essential.  \nBookings open 9:00am Thursday 9th July. \nPlease Note: Due to the popularity of this program\, this program is open to City of Armadale residents only. If you live outside the City of Armadale\, please get in touch with your local council to find out what available programs they have on offer. Thanks for understanding. \nFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: \nWhat age is chair yoga suitable for? \nChair yoga is suited to adults 18 years and above. \nCan I attend just one session? \nYes! We do encourage participants to attend as many of the sessions as possible\, however we understand that this is not always possible. You will need to register for each session that suits you. \nDo I need to have yoga experience? \nNo. All sessions are beginner friendly. \nDo I need to bring anything? \nWe recommend you wear light exercise clothing that you feel comfortable in and bring a water bottle. \nWhat are the dates? \nFriday's\, 1:30 – 2:30pm.24th and 31st of July\, 7th\, 14th\, 21st and 28th August\, 4th and 11th of September. \nSomething has come up and I am unable to attend a session. How do I cancel my ticket? \nIf you are unable to attend any session you have registered for\, please cancel your ticket as early as possible so we can offer it to someone else. You can easily cancel your ticket by following the instructions in the Humanitix confirmation email you received when registering. Alternatively\, please contact the City’s Health Services team at 08 9394 5855 for assistance with canceling your ticket. \nHow can I register? \nBookings open 9:00am Thursday 9th July. Given the popularity of the program\, we strongly recommend registering online. Make sure you have your computer ready and register as soon as bookings open to secure your spot! \nPlease only register for the sessions you can attend. This gives other participants a fair chance to secure a ticket before the program sells out. \nCan I register for a friend? \nWhen registering\, you can select up to two tickets per person. This allows you to reserve a ticket for a friend or partner\, while also giving others a fair chance to secure a ticket before the program sells out. \nI didn't get into the program. What other options are available? \nIf you missed out on securing a spot in the program\, don’t worry—you can still add yourself to our waitlist. Should a spot become available\, we will reach out via email to offer you a ticket. \nIn the meantime\, have you explored the available options at the Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre? Although they don’t offer chair yoga\, they have a variety of classes that may suit your needs.
