Perth Folk and Roots Club is also working with Act Belong Commit in recognition of music’s contribution to mental wellbeing.  The performances are from 6pm to 9pm at Perth Bowling and Recreation Club\, 2 Plain Street\, Perth.  For this event\, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Richie Power and Front Porch Serenaders. Richie Power is a Singer/Songwriter from the town of Dungarvan in County Waterford\, Ireland who performs originals in the traditional Irish folk music style and has been a musician for over 30 years. Front Porch Serenaders are a folk and country blues trio or more\, who have a long history of playing great music in the Perth music scene featuring Jeff Barham\, Howie Smallman and John Wilson.

DESCRIPTION:Gough Whitlam was the longest serving federal leader of the Australian Labour Party\, he was notable for being the head of a reformist and socially progressive government that ended with his controversial dismissal by the then-governor-general of Australia\, Sir John Kerr\, at the climax of the 1975 constitutional crisis. Whitlam remains the only Australian prime minister to have been removed from office by a governor-general. Richard will be giving a powerpoint presentation on this and other aspects of his life. \nPlease book in as spaces are limited. \nThis program is suitable for adults aged\, 18+ and is workshop without Hands-on activities. Please book one ticket for each person attending. Photography and videography may be taken at this event. Images and footage may be used by the City of Swan and event organisers for marketing and promotional purposes.
