Suitable for: People living with dementia and their family carers and family members.\n\n\nThis program provides an overview of dementia and how to proceed after a diagnosis. It covers coping with change\, relationships and communication\, planning for the future and staying healthy. \nYou will gain knowledge in: \n\ndementia and related issues such as planning for the future\nstrategies for living positively with dementia including support\nthe management\, reduction and/or prevention of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia.\n\nSuitable for: People in the early to mid stages of dementia\, their family carers and family members (carers cannot attend alone). Not suitable for paid carers or health professionals\, people without a diagnosis or people living with dementia who do not acknowledge their diagnosis. \nIf you register\, you’ll be contacted by Dementia Australia to ensure that the program meets your needs and that you’re eligible. You will need to attend multiple sessions or a block of time\, and should be willing to participate in a workshop and therapeutic environment. \nThis program runs over 7 sessions: \n\nWednesday 4 February 2026\, from 10:00am to 12:30pm\nWednesday 11 February 2026\, from 10:00am to 12:30pm\nWednesday 18 February 2026\, from 10:00am to 12:30pm\nWednesday 25 February 2026\, from 10:00am to 12:30pm\nWednesday 4 March 2026\, from 10:00am to 12:30pm\nWednesday 11 March 2026\, from 10:00am to 12:30pm\nWednesday 18 March 2026\, from 10:00am to 12:30pm\n\nDementia Australia’s facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge\, skills and experience.
