Suitable for: People living with dementia and their family carers and family members.\n\n\nThis program provides an overview of dementia and how to proceed after a diagnosis. It covers coping with change\, relationships and communication\, planning for the future and staying healthy. \nYou will gain knowledge in: \n\ndementia and related issues such as planning for the future\nstrategies for living positively with dementia including support\nthe management\, reduction and/or prevention of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia.\n\nSuitable for: People in the early to mid stages of dementia\, their family carers and family members (carers cannot attend alone). Not suitable for paid carers or health professionals\, people without a diagnosis or people living with dementia who do not acknowledge their diagnosis. \nIf you register\, you’ll be contacted by Dementia Australia to ensure that the program meets your needs and that you’re eligible. The Quilting Angels repurpose the donated fabrics into quilts and snugs for people facing homelessness\, illness\, or financial hardship. \nJoin us in the CoGLAB between 10am and 2pm on fortnightly Thursdays (see listed dates) for project sessions\, where you can help create quilts for community donation. These will be free drop-in sessions\, open to any community members aged 16 and over. The CoGLAB’s two sewing machines and many handheld sewing machines will be available for use during sessions. \nNo bookings required. \n \nThe HDStreetwise Quilting Angels is a community-focused volunteer group\, dedicated to supporting vulnerable members of the local community through crafting and skill-sharing.
