DESCRIPTION:Improve your strength and wellbeing by joining our Active Ageing Program! \nEvery Thursday\, for nine weeks\, you will be exercising to the Geri-Fit® program videos\, which are progressive workouts including a range of exercises. This program is for people aged 60 years and older. \nExpressions of interest for the program close 5pm\, Friday 3rd July 2026.  \nTo express your interest\, email health@armadale.wa.gov.au. Places are limited and you must be registered to attend. \nYou will be notified if you are successful in securing a place for the program on Thursday 9th July 2026. \nPlease Note: Due to the popularity of this program\, this program is open to City of Armadale residents only. Thanks for understanding. \nFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: \nCan I attend both the Active Ageing Armadale and Active Ageing Kelmscott programs? \nNo. Due to the popularity of the Active Ageing program\, we are now offering the program in two locations to allow more participants to join and improve their strength and wellbeing. \nWhat are the dates of the Active Ageing Armadale program? \nEvery Thursday\, 10:00am – 11:00am\, commencing 23 July 2026 for nine weeks. \n23\, 30 July \n6\, 13\, 20\, 27 August \n3\, 10\, 17 September \nCan I attend just one class? \nNo. As these classes build on exercises participants will have learnt in previous classes\, we encourage participants to attend as many of the classes as possible. \nI’m not yet 60 years old. Can I still attend? \nNo. This program is for people aged 60 years and older. \nDo I need to bring anything? \nWe recommend you wear light exercise clothing that you feel comfortable in and bring a water bottle. \nI’m running late for a class. Journey in time with historic photographs\, nostalgic stories and a few surprise discoveries along the way. \nMeet new people\, share memories and listen to some interesting history followed by a free morning tea. \nMuseum Mornings are conducted by Subiaco Museum on the first Thursday of the month (excluding January). Commencing at 10am\, the free lecture runs for 30-45 minutes and is followed by morning tea. Explore the Museum collection and discover a different theme each month. The Quilting Angels repurpose donated fabrics into quilts and snugs for people facing homelessness\, illness\, or financial hardship. \nJoin us in the Amherst Village Library’s CoGLAB for free project sessions where you can help create quilts for community donation. These are free drop-in sessions\, open to community members aged 16 years and over. The CoGLAB’s two sewing machines and many handheld sewing machines are available for use during sessions. \n\nNo bookings required.\n\nHDStreetwise is a non-profit charity op shop in Maddington which founded the Quilting Angels volunteer group and provides them with donated materials.
