DESCRIPTION:The one-hour sessions will involve 40 – 45 minutes of exercise\, including warm up and cool down phases. The remaining time will be dedicated to sharing fitness information\, questions and discussion. \nYou will build strength and improve mobility in these enjoyable outdoor sessions. Strength exercises will mainly involve standing and seated posture using equipment such as resistance bands and dumbbells. We’ll get in some ‘huff and puff’ activities to improve your fitness with a combination of brisk walking and whole-body movements. \nRegistrations for the entire 10 week program are essential. Thanks for understanding. \nFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: \nCan I attend both the Active Ageing Armadale and Active Ageing Kelmscott programs? \nNo. Due to the popularity of the Active Ageing program\, we are now offering the program in two locations to allow more participants to join and improve their strength and wellbeing. \nWhat are the dates of the Active Ageing Armadale program? \nEvery Thursday\, 10:00am – 11:00am\, commencing 23 July 2026 for nine weeks. \n23\, 30 July \n6\, 13\, 20\, 27 August \n3\, 10\, 17 September \nCan I attend just one class? \nNo. As these classes build on exercises participants will have learnt in previous classes\, we encourage participants to attend as many of the classes as possible. \nI’m not yet 60 years old. DESCRIPTION:Practice your craft skills and help your community at the same time \nThe HDStreetwise Quilting Angels is a community-focused volunteer group\, dedicated to supporting vulnerable members of the local community through crafting and skill-sharing. The Quilting Angels repurpose donated fabrics into quilts and snugs for people facing homelessness\, illness\, or financial hardship. \nJoin us in the Amherst Village Library’s CoGLAB for free project sessions where you can help create quilts for community donation. These are free drop-in sessions\, open to community members aged 16 years and over. The CoGLAB’s two sewing machines and many handheld sewing machines are available for use during sessions. \n\nNo bookings required.\n\nHDStreetwise is a non-profit charity op shop in Maddington which founded the Quilting Angels volunteer group and provides them with donated materials.
