SUMMARY:Death and Dying for Beginners Series - Choosing your Legacy
DESCRIPTION:This is a workshop to create something to ease the pain and perhaps even entertain those we leave behind. \nJoin us for a playful\, thought provoking series of community education workshops to support you to engage with end of life planning in a new way. \nYour host\, Erin\, hopes you leave feeling inspired by the multitude of end of life possibilities – we have more choice and control than we are led to believe. \nYou’ll also develop skills to have conversations with the people most important to you about your end-of-life plans. This is a death and grief literacy skill building series where each workshop is connected. We recommend if possible that you attend all four\, but any is better than none. \nChoosing your legacy:\nEven when we expect death\, it can still come as a rude shock and more often than not\, we are grossly under-prepared. While alive and well\, we can create something to ease the pain and perhaps even entertain those we leave behind. \nErin will guide you through the practical and personal aspects of creating your unique legacy box. Combing the knowledge from the three previous workshops\, your legacy box will be a combination of important paperwork and personal keepsakes to reflect your life and final wishes. \nThis is week four of a four week series exploring all aspects of end-of-life. \nPlease book in as spaces are limited.  \nThis program is suitable for adults\, aged 18+ and is a hands-on workshop. Please book one ticket for each person attending. \nPhotography and videography may be taken at this event. Images and footage may be used by the City of Swan and event organisers for marketing and promotional purposes.

SUMMARY:The Pirates of Penzance
DESCRIPTION:Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance is a rollicking\, delightfully funny tale of a band of soft-hearted pirates. \nMistakenly apprenticed to a band of pirates by his nursemaid Ruth\, the handsome Frederic is now twenty-one and\, though quite fond of the group of joyous and fun-loving pirates\, virtuously chooses to abandon his profession. Shortly after leaving them\, he encounters a gaggle of beautiful maidens one of whom\, Mabel\, steals his heart. The whole group has a run-in with the pirates (as well as the girls’ father\, the eccentric Major-General)\, but they are able to escape their clutches on the false premise that the Major-General is an orphan. Later\, Frederic leads a band of cowardly policemen to take out the Pirate King and his men once and for all\, but a secret is revealed about Frederic that will change his fate forever. \nComing on the heels of their first international sensation H.M.S. Pinafore\, Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance\, or: The Slave of Duty is a delightful farce that is fun for all ages and beloved since its premiere in 1879. \nThe Dolphin Theatre has an accessible ramp\, and seating at the venue. \nVisit Website \n  \nEvent Showings\n11 -13 Jun \n17 – 19 Jun \nVarious start times
