DESCRIPTION:The City of Stirling invites you to join us for a Community Planting event at Carine Regional Open Space to help restore sections of the bushland. \nThis event is an opportunity to: \n\nMeet your neighbours and build a sense of community\nImprove the biodiversity and conservation value of our natural areas\nLearn more about conservation and how you can get involved.\n\nThis event will involve planting in the bushland with a variety of important plant species. The planting is done by community members with the guide of expert help from our staff and conservation volunteers. \nThe City requests you bring your own gardening gloves\, water bottle\, closed-in shoes\, protective eye wear and weather appropriate clothing (long pants\, either a broad brim hat/sunscreen or raincoat/pants). On arrival to the event\, volunteers and residents will be asked to register and an induction will be carried out prior to planting activities. When rain or very hot days are forecast there will be more sellers than usual. Maximum height of vehicles admitted – 2.2m. \nSellers are charged $10 per car bay they and their car occupied. Buyers: \nSwapMart opens at 6.30am to buyers. \nEntry is $2 with free entry for children. DESCRIPTION:Come join us at Lake Magenup in Wandi as we plant an Urban Shade Forest to enjoy for years to come.\n\n\nJoin us at Lake Magenup in Wandi to plant native trees together we can create cooler\, greener and more resilient cities. \nUrban Shade Forests are small pockets of native plants growing in urban spaces\, helping to bring nature back into our cities where vegetation has often been lost over time. Take home some native seedlings to bolster your own garden and enjoy a light lunch at the end (please advise of any dietary requirements). \n\nWear clothing appropriate for the weather including long sleeves and enclosed shoes\nGloves and planting tools will be provided\, however you’re welcome to bring your own gloves if you wish.\nParking available at Wandi Community Hall\, and you’ll be directed to the planting site in the reserve behind.\n\nRegistration is essential. \nThis event is delivered in partnership with Conservation Volunteers Australia through CVA’s Urban Shade Forest initiative. The Urban Shade Forest initiative is supported by founding partner Chevron Australia\, Chevron’s premium fuel brand Caltex and supported locally by the City of Kwinana.
