Where the Ink Falls: Curtin Writers Respond to Lindy Lee
August 10 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Where the ink falls: Curtin Writers Respond to Lindy Lee: Moon in a Dew Drop.
Drawing on an ancient Chinese tradition of Flung Ink, practised by Buddhist monks after an interlude of meditation, Lindy Lee creates powerful thrown ink and flung bronze artworks. Honouring and responding to this ‘calligraphy of the universe’, we, too, have flung our ink – in the form of creative writing – watching as our words appear on the page, full of reflections and shadows, stillness and flux. The materiality of Lee’s artworks, with their elemental basis and porous boundaries, offer a deeply inspirational space which invites connection.
Join us in a reading of original works of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction written by Curtin University staff from the disciplines of education, visual arts, creative and professional writing, and communication and media studies.
Free entry; attendees will also receive a free copy of Where the Ink Falls. Contributors include: Danielle O’Leary, Caitlin Maling, Susanna Castleden, Qian Gong, Rachel Robertson, Paul Gardner, Denise Woods, Christina Chau, Christina Lee, Sue-Lyn Aldrian-Moyle, Per Henningsgaard, Anne Ryden.
