HaVe Harvey Cheese Review
What hotel do cheese lovers stay in? That’s right they go for the Stilton! That was the joke of the day when we arrived at HaVe Harvey cheese – a stalwart of Western Australia’s southwest.
Just outside of the township of Harvey, HaVe is an award-winning family-owned and operated business.
As well as free cheese tastings, HaVe offer cheesemaking classes, factory viewing and a few animals for the grandchildren to see and enjoy.
We visited on a Sunday morning and had coffee/tea and a slice of good carrot cake while enjoying the views from an outside table.

HaVe Harvey cheese has won many awards including the best small cheesemaker at the Royal show as well as awards for their cultured butter, white mould cheese, blue vein cheese, halloumi, feta and savoury cheeses.

Cheese tastings were next up for us and we tried the company’s haloumi, feta, vintage cheddar and Camembert before browsing through the large selection of locally made foodstuffs and craft items.

There is a variety of goods on sale ranging from chocolate and nougat, cheese boards and dishes, metalwork and books to toiletries and candles.

HaVe also have Dairy memorabilia on display.
Only two camels and an emu arrived to say hello while we were there but I’m sure that children will love the chance to get close to HaVe’s Dorper sheep and horses.

After paying our respects to the animals we went back to the store where we bought some vintage cheddar, fetta, some really nice chives and garlic, cultured butter and a jar of spiced, marinated garlic pickles – all yummy!
