Just a quick drive north of Margaret River town, CBCo Brewing (which was previously known as the Colonial Brewing Co) offers a relaxed and welcoming space to unwind and enjoy the best of the Margaret River region’s craft beer. This brewery, one of Margaret River’s first, is the perfect stop for foodies looking for great beer, tasty bites, and a laid-back atmosphere.

Mr. H and I visited in summer, and loved CBC’s warm, casual vibe and spacious outdoor seating, complete with lush lawns and a playground that makes it a family-friendly option too.

We decided to skip the beer paddles (though they’re perfect if you want to sample a variety of their brews) and Mr. H sipped on a sour beer.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, in terms of quality and was pleasantly surprised by their food. We shared a few plates, starting with a gooey baked brie, which paired perfectly with their crusty bread (GF option also available). For me, the pork belly stole the show – perfectly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside.

The lamb chorizo was bursting with smoky flavors.

The spicy buffalo chicken wings were also a big hit.

The brewery’s welcoming and professional staff, scenic setting, and focus on quality make it a standout in the Margaret River region. There’s even a driving range to tee off at, for lovers of golf! Pop in for a quick bite ‘n pint or plan a longer stay to soak up the sunshine and savour their brews. The laid-back pace and excellent menu make it an ideal spot to recharge while enjoying the vibrant food and drink culture of Margaret River. Don’t miss it on your next trip douth (down south).
