A stalwart of the charming West Australian country town of Beverley, the Freemasons Tavern is a tasty place to dine. The historic pub has oodles of rustic charm and warm country-style hospitality. Known as “The Bottom Pub” to locals, it enjoyed a beautiful renovation in 2018.
Found on the main road in Beverley, Vincent Street, Freemasons Tavern is at the heart of Beverley’s rich history. As you step through the tavern’s wooden doors, you’ll be transported to a time gone by. Built in 1908, the tavern’s interior has been renovated beautifully, though it remains true to its past.
The Freemasons Tavern offers an good selection of beers, wines, and spirits. The menu at the Freemasons Tavern has plenty of traditional pub favourites to choose from. Whether you’re craving a classic parmi, surf n turf, pasta, burgers or fish and chips, there’s something to please every palate. The offer vegetarian and gluten-free options too, as well as a kid’s menu.
A mountain of tender lemon pepper-dusted squid is very generous. I really enjoyed the grilled barramundi fillet, served with a dressed salad and lemon butter sauce.
One of the highlights of dining at the Freemasons Tavern is the warm atmosphere and beautiful dining room. From high, ornate ceilings and exposed brick walls, to leadlight windows and old timber floors. The pub has so much character.
Outside, there’s a large covered patio area, as well as a courtyard. This spot is popular with families as there’s a cubby house and giant garden games for the kiddos.
A pub lunch at the old Freemasons Tavern in Beverley is well worth it. Step back in time and savour delicious food. Whether you’re a local or a visitor passing through, make sure to include this iconic pub on your list of must-visit places in Beverley. It’s a taste of history.
