This workshop will provide guidance for all types of rentals, from houses to apartments, to help you live sustainably in your home. It will cover:
- Simple tips to reduce energy and water use at home.
- Easy to manage waste and recycling tips.
- Non-permanent changes to improve the energy efficiency of the home.
- How to make good use of space and grow your own produce without altering the property.
- How to manage your organic waste at home through composting or worm farms
- How to raise a home improvement idea with your landlord.
- Tax deductions for landlords who make sustainability improvements to their properties.
- Rebates and discounts available to help you access products to improve your sustainability (LED lights, worm farms, and much more).
- Free energy audits for individuals facing financial hardship to find ways to reduce energy bills.
This workshop is hosted by the Town of Bassendean in partnership with Switch Your Thinking.
