Wild Words – a morning of nature writing with Josephine Clarke

April 3 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Free

Join us by the Murray River and in the historic Court House for a morning of creative writing, inspired by nature and guided by Western Australian poet Josephine Clarke.

About Josephine Clarke

Josephine Clarke grew up among the karri trees of Pemberton. After teaching High School English she travelled to other States and countries with her family. She now lives and writes in Fremantle/Walyalup. Her poetry and short stories have been published in Australian journals and her first poetry collection, Recipe for Risotto, was published in 2020 by UWA publishing.

Included in the morning

  • Presentation and guided writing warmups
  • Morning tea and hot drinks
  • Time to walk and sit by the beautiful Murray River
  • Time to write, receive one on one guidance and share your creations with the group

This workshop is suitable for writers of all levels of experience!

What to bring

  • Pen and paper
  • Water bottle
  • Silent digital items for writing if preferred (e.g. iPad with onscreen keyboard – no external keyboards or laptops allowed as these disrupt group focus during writing times)
  • Raincoat or umbrella in case it rains (the walk will still be happening if it does)
  • An open and inquisitive mind!

Please note that as places are limited for this free workshop attendees will be required to confirm their attendance prior to the event. Those on the waitlist will be contacted in the event of any cancellations.
