Whiteman Park is hosting our 2026 community planting day on National Tree Day!
Our annual National Tree Day plantings are a great opportunity for the local community to get involved in the revegetation and overall improvement of previously disturbed and degraded habitats in the Park, so we’d love to see everyone and their green thumbs!
Our Planting site
The Horse Swamp south site will involve planting a bushland buffer zone between Dulwich Street and the Conservation category wetland to help support the health of this important wildlife habitat.
The vegetation buffer that will be created through this regeneration project will support a range of species in the future, from the quenda and koomal (brush-tailed possums) to resident frogs and a host of bird species.
National Tree Day community plantings will continue at this habitat restoration site for up to five years.
