My dad, who has been a huge vinyl collector for close to 60 years, has helped to put this handy list together of the best music treasure troves in Perth. Replay Records, Kenwick

One of the originals. And there are not just records for sale – there’s also memorabilia, guitar strings, music sheets, CDs, DVDs, tapes and a whole lot more.

Record Finder, Fremantle

There are two Record Finder stores in Fremantle, both are located on High Street, so be sure to visit both to find some gems. There’s lots of vinyl, cassettes, CDs and books to choose from.

At the rear of the second-hand book shop is a mural covered room dedicated to records and CDs. A fun fact is my dad ran this record shop in the mid-90s!

Found along with a florists, Safaris Record Shack has a sometimes eclectic choice of albums. Here there’s a mix of new and second hand records from boogie disco, to rockabilly and a huge range of reggae, with many rare and promo copies too.

Midland Records, Midland

Found in the same retail space as Simply Second hand, Midland Records is a retro lovers paradise. One of Perth’s biggest collections of new and vintage vinyls, you’re bound to find what you are looking at, and maybe even a mid-century sideboard to store your record player too.

Urban Records, Leederville

As well as a great range of vinyl, Urban Records also stock quality turntables for sale and a big selection of giftware. This is where the cool kids hang out – as well as a lot of old classics, there’s a lot of new vinyl here too.

Rhubarb Records, Vic Park & Mt Lawley

If you like to enjoy a spot of coffee or bunch with a vinyl hunt – head to Rhubarb! The Vic Park store is a stones throw from many cafes of the Albany Highway strip. While the newer Mt Lawley store shares a building with Local and Aesthetic. Rhubarb has lots of new vinyl – perfect if your old favourites are now a little worse for wear and need replacing.
