ONE-ON-ONE TECH HELP SESSIONS
Book in for an individual 30-minute Tech Help session for basic technology help. These are informal, introductory sessions aimed at increasing confidence in the use of computers and mobile technology.
Examples of some of the things we can help you with include
- Getting started with ebooks & eAudiobooks
- Basic word processing
- Setting up an email account
- Basic Facebook
- Basic help with installing apps to your phone or tablet
Session times:
- Spearwood Library – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: Â 10am and 10.30am
Knitting Circle
If you enjoy meeting up with other Knitters / crocheters to stitch and chat, or want to learn these crafts, then come along and join our friendly group, many of whom knit for charities. Learn new techniques, exchange ideas or find inspiration for your next project.
There are Knitting Circles at all three Cockburn Libraries. Â Sessions are free. New people are always welcome.
Spearwood Library – Wednesdays at 9.30am – 12pm.
Book Club
Do you enjoy reading books and then discussing them with others? The Cockburn Libraries’ Book Clubs are a great opportunity to read new authors and engage in lively discussions and debates. They are also a great way to make new friends in a social environment.
- Spearwood Library – Morning Book Club meet on the third Monday of the month at 10.00am and the cost is $5.00 per session, which includes book hire.
- Spearwood Library – Evening Book Club meet on the third Thursday of the month at 6.30pm and the cost is $5.00 per session, which includes book hire.
Family History Group
Family history groups now meet at both Success Library and in Spearwood (at the Seniors Centre).  The groups will help you make the most of the resources held at Cockburn Libraries to discover the scoundrels and saints in your family’s history.
Lee-Ann Atkinson, a long-time member and educator at the Western Australian Genealogical Society Inc (WAGS) will share the wealth of her knowledge each month to help you trace your family’s background.
Come along, share your information with others in the group and enjoy a free cuppa. Lee-Ann will be available to answer your family history questions and guide you in your research. No bookings

Success Group meets on the first Tuesday of each month, 10am @ Success Library
Creative Corners Writing Club
Meets at Spearwood Library on the first and third Tuesdays of the month  at 9.30am
A local writers’ group keen on motivating the cultural fabric and life of the City of Cockburn. Come along and play with words. The cost is $2.00 per session and refreshments are provided. If you are a beginner or already write poetry, short stories, plays or non-fiction and are looking for support and encouragement, then you are welcome to join this group. Feedback can be provided or you may just want to share your work in a friendly environment. Group convener is Robert Halsey (08) 9418 2513.
