Books on Wheels in Perth:
Our Seniorocity guide has you covered with ideas for Places to Go in Perth. Find libraries with Books on Wheels in your area, including library vans and much more!
Having trouble getting to your local library? Are you restricted by a lack of transport or mobility issues? Many libraries are now offering at home library visits.
People who are physically unable to visit the library may be eligible for a library delivery service. For example, City of Kalamunda Libraries deliver books, magazines, talking books, large print and many other items that are available for loan. Please phone your local library to ask about this service.
Similarly, City of Nedlands Libraries offer a mobile book service. After an initial consultation with their library staff, Books on Wheels clients are matched with one of their friendly volunteers who select from a range of library items. Up to 12 library items are delivered fortnightly to the client’s door and previous items are collected and returned to the library.
Likewise, City of Joondalup Libraries have a mobile library van. This is a free service that caters for older adults who, due to frailty or limited mobility, are unable to reach their public library. The service may also be used by people who have health problems, disabilities or those who are temporarily immobile.
If for instance this is a service you’re keen on, please contact your local council to discuss your options.
All these book services at library locations are listed with reviews, photos and more in our Seniorocity guide. Check it out and escape to a good book today!
