When visiting Wave Rock there is no better accommodation than the Wave Rock Caravan Park.

Plenty of room and the facilities are impressive. The camp kitchen itself is not huge, but has most things light campers would need. The undercover area is huge and there are plenty of tables, chairs and space to accommodate a fair amount of people at one time. It’s quite a social affair, particularly when the sports is on the big screen. There are two areas with bbq facilities on either side of the undercover area.

A nice playground is nearby if you happen to be travelling with littlies. It’s a lovely wooden structure with a bridge, cubby and swings. Dogs are allowed as long as they’re on a lead, so don’t forget your fur babies. The bathroom facilities have been clean and functional on both visits. Showers and toilets are spacious.

The pool is lovely on those dry, dusty days. From the fence it is looks a bit on the small side, but once in it is actually a decent sized pool and even with a good crowd there is still a fair amount of space. Plenty of grassed area and there are three gazebos to shelter under. We had lunch and snacks which was lovely by the pool on a hot day. There are several lounge chairs but they tend to get snapped up quick.

There are plenty of accommodation options including ensuite powered sites, self-contained cabins, powered and non-powered sites. We recommend getting there before sundown – the site numbers can get a little tricky in the dark.
Caravan patrons get free access to Wave Rock and there is a short walkway left of the entrance, closest to the wave. The morning views are spectacular.
Food and meals are available in the town of Hyden as well as across the road at the cafe. We recommend taking most of your grub so you don’t get caught out. We enjoyed a take away coffee from the onsite kiosk and they do sell basics like milk etc if you do happen to run out.

The staff are friendly and will help you out if needed. We were stranded on one recent expedition and they booked us in no problems on the spot. Such a great area to explore and a highly recommended park.
