Craig Silvey is a multiple award-winning author whose works have captivated readers both in Australia and internationally. Twice named Best Young Australian Novelist by The Sydney Morning Herald, his debut novel, Rhubarb, was published in 2004. His bestselling novel, Jasper Jones is considered a modern Australian classic, winning the Australian Book Industry Awards Book of the Year and shortlisted for the International Dublin Literary Award. His third novel, Honeybee, was the 2020 Dymocks Book Of The Year, winner of the Indie Book Award for Best Fiction, and was voted Number 1 in the Better Reading’s Top 100.
His first novel for Younger Readers, Runt won a raft of awards, including the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Award, the Australian Book Industry Awards Book of the Year for Younger Children, the Indie Book Awards Book of the Year, Children’s Book of the Year at the BookPeople Book of the Year Awards and the 2022 Dymocks Book of the Year for Younger Readers.
Its highly anticipated sequel, Runt and the Diabolical Dognapping, was released on 30 September 2025.
