Bertram Pop Up Community Lounge

Come join us every Wednesday from 10am to 4pm at the William Bertram Community Centre for a heartwarming slice of community life at our Befriend-hosted Pop-Up Community Lounge — a space made for connection, creativity and good conversation! Pull up a chair, pour yourself a free cuppa (the kettle’s always one click away from boiling!) and make yourself at home. Browse our Community Library, where you can swap a book, drop a book, or pick up something new to enjoy. Stay a little longer at one of our Linger Longer stations, or join in on a friendly board or card game. There’s no agenda, no registration and no membership required — just show up, relax and enjoy being part of your local community. One of our friendly Community Lounge Connectors will be on hand to welcome you, show you around and introduce you to the space.

What’s On Regularly: Fortnightly – Sewcial Repair Café Pop-Up with Jackie: “Where loose threads meet good company and time to enjoy a cuppa!” Monthly – Shazz and the Kwinana Community Wardrobe: Helping clothes find new homes and fresh starts. We’re always brewing up new ideas to make this space even more vibrant — and if you have a community project or skill you’d love to share, come have a chat with Inger over a cuppa about how Befriend can help bring it to life. At present, we’re especially on the lookout for fixers, tinkerers and menders to join our Repair Café offerings. If you or someone you know is handy and available on a Monday or Wednesday, we’d love to hear from you! And if Wednesdays don’t suit, you’re welcome to pop by our Monday Pop-Up at John Wellard Community Centre too — because there’s always room for you are our table.
