Birds of the Perth Hills by Talitha Huston

A perfect event for budding bird photographers and watchers! Come and hear from Talitha Huston, who photographed, researched and wrote Birds of the Perth Hills when she was just 14.
An avid traveller, bird lover and passionate environmentalist, Talitha has plenty of knowledge to share about the beautiful birds that reside in the Perth Hills. Join us for an engaging presentation for all ages, followed by a morning tea, craft for the kids, and book sales.
About Talitha
Talitha Huston loves nature and cares deeply about the environment. She started taking photographs when she was three years old with her first Panasonic camera. When Talitha was 14 she bought a Nikon Coolpix B700 and discovered bird photography. She spent hours in the bush, filming and photographing the birds in her backyard and surrounding areas. It was when she had so many bird photos that she realised that we didn’t have a local bird book for the Perth Hills and thought she should create one. Talitha did hours of research, hand painted bird distribution maps, created her own ‘Skittish’ rating and included tips on photographing each bird.
