Dementia and Your Caring Role – Online

This program provides an understanding of dementia and how to care for someone living with dementia.
It includes strategies and resources for:
- communicating effectively
- meaningful activities
- understanding changes in behaviour
- making your home dementia-friendly
- the impact of caring for someone with dementia.
Suitable for: Family carers and family members of people living with dementia. This program is not suitable for professionals employed in the health or aged care sectors.
This program runs over 4 sessions on a Wednesday, for 2 hours each session. To complete this program, you must attend all the four sessions:
- Wednesday 28 January 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm
- Wednesday 04 February 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm
- Wednesday 11 February 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm
- Wednesday 18 February 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm
Dementia Australia’s facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge, skills and experience. This program is delivered interactively, you will be encouraged to share your experiences alongside other participants giving you an opportunity to develop new support networks.

How do I access the online program?
The link to this online session will be emailed to the email address that you have provided in your registration, once the registration has closed.
If you have not received the link to this session within a day prior to the session, please check your junk mail. If it’s not in your junk mail, please contact the facilitator with the contact details below.
There is no need to download any software in order to participate in this online workshop, therefore you will only need to click on the link to join the session at starting time.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
It is ideal if you can bring your ticket. However, if you have completed your registration we will have your details and forgetting your ticket won’t be a problem.
