Gardens for Wildlife
August 31 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
ABOUT
Have you ever wondered how to attract more wildlife to your urban paradise? Come along to a university near you and find out!
Come along to a public lecture from one of our scientists, talking about the best ways to encourage wildlife to visit your garden. (Hint: it’s not putting out birdseed). Head on a walk around our campus to see what kind of plants attract birds – while recording your bird count on the Birdlife Australia app. At the end of the event head home with your very own seedling* to nurture in your garden (*for the first 100 registrants per location).
In metro locations, you’ll also be able to meet & greet an endangered bird from Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre.
Taking place in 3 locations over August, with different speakers, so you can find one near you. Morning tea is included.
Time: 9:30am to 12:30pm (doors open 9:00am)
Cost: Free
This event is made possible by Inspiring Australia & National Science Week.
