Skimming the Indian Ocean, Rockingham’s coastline is strewn with boats and boating. Close to HMAS Stirling and the Garden Island Naval Base, boating is a big part of the lifestyle and experience of many Rockingham residents.
Messing About in Boats brings together 12 artists to celebrate, interpret and reflect on this way of life for many Western Australians.
Featuring Artists: Bennett Miller, Denise Pepper, Geoffrey Drake-Brockman, Marcia Espinosa, Mikaela Castledine, Nic Compton, Stuart Elliot, Sue Starcken, Susie Vickery, Todd Israel, Tom Freeman and Tony Jones.
On display at the Rockingham Arts Centre from Wednesday 19 August to Sunday 13 September. The gallery is open from 10am – 12.30pm and 1pm – 4pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
