River Guardians – who they are, what they do, and how you can help.

River Guardians is a DBCA program that engages the community on matters relating to the Swan and Canning rivers. Perth residents have an important role to play in helping to protect and conserve our iconic river system and River Guardians has a suite of projects that you can engage with. If you want to keep abreast of all the latest news relating to the Swan Canning Riverpark, are looking for opportunities to volunteer, or just want to learn more about our resident dolphin population, then this is the presentation for you!
About the Presenter:
Jason Menzies holds a degree in Environmental Science and since graduating in 1998 has spent the past 25-years blending environmental science with social science in a variety of roles in both the private and government sectors. More recently, Jason has spent the past 13-yrs working for the Swan River Trust / Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) as the Community Engagement Manager in the Swan Canning Waterways Branch. In this role, Jason has overseen the successful development and delivery of the River Guardians program – a river-focused community education and behaviour change program.
