Symphonic Journeys: From Beach to Beethoven
South Side Symphony Orchestra is proud to present Symphonic Journeys: From Beach to Beethoven, an inspiring afternoon of music led by its Musical Director, Izaak Wesson.
The highlight of the program will be Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 61, performed by internationally renowned violinist Laurence Jackson, Concertmaster of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. The program also features Amy Beach’s Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 32 (“Gailic”).
Hailed as the first symphony composed and published by an American woman, the Gaelic Symphony is a powerful blend of romantic orchestral tradition and lyrical folk-inspired themes.
