Thriving Beyond Midlife: Peri- & Menopause, Heart Health and Beyond
Overview
Join us for this educational workshop, delivered as part of an extension pharmacist project from Riverton Family Doctors that evolved from diabetes education sessions, recognising that women experience significant changes during midlife including cardiovascular and metabolic risks, bone health challenges, and other wellbeing concerns both with and without diabetes.
In collaboration with clinical pharmacist Bo Youn Kim, the workshop provides clear, evidence-based information on peri- and menopause, cardiovascular and bone health, and long-term wellbeing. It aims to increase awareness and empower women to better understand midlife changes and navigate this stage of life healthier and happier. While centred on women’s health, the workshop is open to everyone.
Topics include:
- Symptoms of peri- and menopause
- Evidence-based treatment options, including HRT
- Midlife health checks
- Cardiovascular and bone health in midlife
- Thriving beyond midlife
Bo Youn Kim is an experienced clinical pharmacist and Founder of EmpowHer Menopause. She works at Royal Perth Hospital and has a strong interest in women’s health, particularly the under-recognised links between peri-/menopause, cardiovascular risk, and mental health. She is passionate about educating women and health professionals to improve midlife health outcomes.
