Sky Vista Perth

If you’re looking for a truly memorable outing in Perth, SkyVista is well worth adding to your list. Perth’s newest observation wheel has taken up residence on the Riverside Drive foreshore, and it offers one of the most effortless and spectacular ways to see the city from a completely new perspective.

Rising 36 metres above the Swan River, SkyVista treats you to breathtaking 360-degree views across the Perth skyline, the river and the coastline beyond. The wheel rotates at a slow, gentle pace, so there is no rush and no pressure. You can simply sit back, take it all in and snap as many photos as you like.

Each fully enclosed gondola seats up to six people and feels exceptionally secure. Once everyone is seated, the doors lock and can only be opened by staff from the outside. The gondolas are also well ventilated, which makes the ride comfortable even on a warm Perth afternoon.

One of the things that makes SkyVista particularly appealing is how accessible and welcoming it is. Every standard gondola is designed to accommodate manual (non-powered) wheelchairs, and the staff are on hand to assist with boarding. If you use a motorised wheelchair or mobility scooter, it is worth reaching out to the team in advance via email, as they are happy to discuss options and help you plan your visit.

The staff themselves deserve a special mention. They are warm, friendly and genuinely enthusiastic about making your experience enjoyable. They were more than happy to take photos before guests boarded, which was a lovely personal touch that went a long way.

Getting there is straightforward. There is on-site parking available if you are travelling by car, or you can catch the train to Elizabeth Quay Station and enjoy a pleasant stroll along the waterfront to reach the wheel. The setting along the Swan River foreshore is beautiful in its own right, and it is well worth making a leisurely morning or afternoon of the visit.

A great way to extend your outing is to grab a freshly brewed coffee from Double A on the River, located beside the rowing club, or pack a picnic and settle in on the Swan River foreshore. There is plenty of grass to relax on while soaking up those sweeping riverside views, and you might even spot a jellyfish or two drifting near the shoreline.

Tickets are reasonably priced, starting from $12 for children aged 3 to 13 and $14 for adults 14 and over. Toddlers under three ride for free, and there is a Family Pass available for $50 (covering two adults and two children). Private gondolas can also be booked for a more exclusive experience. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or on-site on the day, giving you flexibility to plan around the weather.

SkyVista is just as magical after dark as it is during the day. Once the sun goes down, the wheel lights up the foreshore with more than 125,000 colourful LED lights, creating a striking spectacle that is lovely to experience from both inside and outside the gondola. Whether you prefer the clarity of daytime views or the atmosphere of an evening ride, both are equally worthwhile.

SkyVista is operating at Elizabeth Quay until 23 August 2026, so there is still time to experience it. It is proudly WA owned and operated, and it is the kind of outing that reminds you just how beautiful Perth really is.
