Some places just scream classic Perth, and Coast at Port Beach is one of them. Set right in the North Fremantle sand dunes, this casual beachside pub is all about good food, ocean views and that lovely laid-back atmosphere we all want more of. If you’re after an easy outing with a side of sea scenery, Coast is a winner.
Coast is perfectly placed to catch up with friends over lunch, enjoy a casual dinner by the water, or simply sit back with a drink and watch the sun start to dip. The Indian Ocean views are absolutely beautiful, and there’s something very relaxing about hearing the sea in the background while you eat or enjoy a cocktail. It feels like a mini holiday.
The food is approachable and crowd-pleasing, which suits the setting perfectly. It’s a pub, yes, but it’s a very scenic one. Pizzas, share plates and more are on the menu. The salt and pepper squid (GF) is delicious, especially with a squeeze of fresh lemon.
The fish and chips are the obvious choice, when dining by the ocean, it almost feels rude not to. They are golden, crispy, satisfying and exactly the kind of thing that suits a seaside lunch or dinner.
What I like most about Coast is that it doesn’t try too hard. It knows exactly what people come for: the view, the relaxed vibe, a decent drink and food that hits the spot. That simplicity is part of the charm. You don’t need to dress up, plan too much, or overthink it. Just turn up ready to unwind.
It’s also a lovely one for out-of-town visitors. If you have friends or family visiting Perth and want to show off our coastline without doing anything too strenuous, Coast makes a great pick. There’s plenty of parking, and the beach, the fresh air and a meal all in one stop.
For a relaxed day or evening out, Coast Port Beach is a good casual option. Good food, gorgeous views and proper beachside pub vibes.
