There are so many wonderful cities to visit in Australia, and Perth ranks as one of the best. In fact, there is more of an appeal to Perth than other of the big cities Down Under. Perth is one of the most remote big cities on Earth, with the nearest rival (Adelaide) more than 2,000 kilometres away. This makes Perth the ideal place to visit if you want a relaxing and remote break from life. If you are serious about taking the time to explore Perth and having the best time you possibly can, you need to know what it takes to have a relaxed and laid back weekend here. Here are some top tips on getting the most from your break.
Visit the Botanical Gardens
One of the biggest attractions in Perth is the picture perfect Botanical Gardens. Kings Park is one of the largest inner city parks in the world, and it is here that you will find the 17-hectare Perth Botanical Gardens. This is the home to more than 2,000 indigenous plants, with some stunning photo opportunities. There’s nothing more relaxing than strolling through nature, and this is one of the best places to do it.
Take a Bus Tour
If you’re done with your relaxing stroll in the park, another great opportunity would be to make sure you take a bus tour of the city. This might not seem relaxing, but with the Perth Explorer, it can be an absolute delight. As a hop-on-and-off, this is a trip that suits families and older tourists because of the relaxed nature of the route. This is definitely an excellent way of getting around the city and sightseeing with minimal fuss. There are also very affordable tickets for children, families, and senior citizens as well.
Check Out the Moore River
The Moore River is one of the best places to head to if you want a cheap and fun time in Perth. Guilderton is the best place to go if you want to be right by the river, as well as allowing you to indulge in a spot of kayaking, or swimming. You could even follow the river for a stroll, as it winds its way past the town, through the bush, and across sprawling farmlands. This is a wonderfully idyllic spot for those who are looking for a relaxing time.
Marmion Marine Park
Not only is this a place full of shallow lagoons and small islands, but it is an excellent diving location as well. The Secret Traveller at 1Cover believes that learning to dive can open up your holiday experience to plenty of new things, and will allow you to relax in the waters as well. Marmion is the ideal place to visit as it has loads of great islands, underwater life, and sea caves that you can swim through. The perfect place for a laid-back aquatic experience, and you can see some unusual sea life at the same time as well.
As you can see, there are plenty of things to do in Perth, and it’s an excellent location for those looking to enjoy a relaxing and laid back experience. Do you have any other tips for those wanting to spend a relaxed weekend in Perth? Let us know in the comments.
