โLetโs meet at Last Drop Breweryโ. Excellent I thought โ I love going somewhere new and we donโt venture south of the river very often. According to Google, Last Drop Brewery was in the Perth Hills, in Bedfordale. Our trusty GPS got us there in about an hour from the northern suburbs. The pub looked really interesting but our friends were nowhere to be seen. One phone call and half an hour later we arrived at our intended destination – the Last Drop Brewery in Beeliar!
In 1992, Last Drop Elizabethan in Bedfordale was the first of three, family-run pubs to be opened and with its craft brewery on site it was a real novelty. Now Last Drop Beeliar and Last Local in Canning Vale are also flying the flag for traditional European brewed beer.
Last Drop Beeliar opened in 2015 very close to the Cockburn Central Shopping Centre. A fire at Christmas in 2018 could have been disastrous but the pub survived under new management and reopened in March 2019. It changed hands again a few years later but the traditional Olde English pub vibe is still there. The outside of the building is done in a Tudor style and inside is full of dark wood and fireplaces.
We really enjoyed this visit. The pub was buzzing with lots of Mothersโ Day lunches happening and all staff members were really good โ easy going and friendly while still being efficient.
The menu is varied with lots of traditional pub food, Parmigianas, steaks, burgers and salads and a lot of Italian options including Bolognese, carbonara and meatballs. There is a seniors menu (all dishes $22.5) and a childrenโs menu. There is also an undercover childrenโs playground.
Our friends who had already celebrated Motherโs Day with a large breakfast just ordered starters โ Cheese arancini balls (5 pieces for $16) and Beef birra tacos (2 pieces for $18).
Another friend chose Creamy garlic prawns with rice ($36).
Frank picked Gamberi aglio olio โ fettuccine with prawns, chicken and chorizo ($33) while I went for the ubiquitous Fish and chips with salad ($26.5).
All portions were generous and tasty. Regular menu offers include steaks on a Monday, Parmis on a Tuesday and Fish and chips on a Wednesday, all priced at $18.90.ย Kids eat free on a Sunday. The beverage menu features Last Drop beers of course, as well as wines from WA, SA and New Zealand.
Entertainment is provided with a Chase the Ace competition and karaoke on Fridays and live music most Saturdays.
Donโt miss out if you live south of the river or are just passing through โ give Last Drop Beeliar a try for tasty food, good service and a family friendly environment.
