Do you love a buffet? Perthโs most premium buffet, Epicurean, is found at the luxurious Crown Towers hotel. There is a huge amount of food to try. As well as a large western selection, there are also many eastern dishes to taste. We dined there for a special family lunch. The plush dining room is very comfortable and overlooks the hotelโs tropical swimming pools.
The enormous buffet has three sections, each brimming with food. After being seated and placing a drinks order, I wandered over to the cold food section, thinking this would be the best place to start.
I picked up a plate and began filling it with salads, sushi and cured meat.
As well as bread, cheese and other antipasti.
The fresh seafood selection is well stocked with crabs, whole prawns, oysters and smoked salmon.
Moving onto the hot food section, I got a fresh plate and tucked into the tender roasted meats, which are carved for you by chefs and perfectly cooked.
Of course I added all the trimmings โ roast potatoes, steamed vegatables and my favourite – Yorkshire puddings! There are also croc pots full with tasty stews and dishes like meatballs in tomato sauce too.
Thereโs also a big hot Asian section with stir-fries, dumplings, rice dishes and more.
The curries in the Indian section are also delicious. All the accompaniments like rice, daal, naan bread, poppadums, as well as Indian pickles, chutneys and sauces are available too.
If you or a family member has a gluten intolerance or other dietary requirement, itโs best to ask a chef what dishes are safe for you to eat. My daughter is gluten intolerant and she still felt spoiled for choice with her GF options.
The amazing selection of sweets has to be seen to be believed! Sweet tooths wonโt know where to start with cakes, slices, fresh fruit, sorbet, mousse, jelly, chocolate truffles, ice cream and of course Epicureans beautiful centrepiece, the chocolate fountain.
I particularly loved the draws that were full of petite fours.
The stunning chocolate fountain is a must try. A selection of fresh fruits, cake and marshmallows are stuck on skewers and dipped into the fountain which runs with rich, melted chocolate.
Epicurean is a wonderful restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. Thereโs bound to be something in the vast selection of dishes to tempt even the fussiest of eaters, making it perfect for a special meal with a big group. Iโd recommend Epicurean for a lavish meal, all the food is of excellent quality, fresh and cooked very well. Fill your plate and be sure to wear your elastic pants!
