For a relaxed Sunday morning out surrounded by motoring history, personality and plenty of friendly conversation, Classic Cars and Coffee at UWA is hard to beat.
This popular community gathering brings together owners and admirers of interesting vehicles in a welcoming, easy-going setting, with everything from beautifully restored classics and vintage favourites to prestige cars, exotic models, motorcycles and eye-catching Japanese imports.
The event is held in the University of Western Australia car parks, where rows of polished vehicles make for an enjoyable wander at your own pace. Whether you know every engine specification or simply appreciate great design and a little nostalgia, there is always something to catch the eye.
It is a lovely outing for couples, friends, family groups and anyone who enjoys chatting with enthusiastic owners about the stories behind their cars.
Classic Cars and Coffee runs for two hours, giving visitors plenty of time to take in the display, pick up a coffee and enjoy the lively but unhurried atmosphere. Cars and motorcycles are parked across several designated UWA car parks, so comfortable shoes are a good idea if you would like to see it all. Coffee vendors are generally on site, making it easy to settle in for a morning catch-up while enjoying the parade of vehicles.
The event welcomes visitors, while display vehicles need to meet the organisers’ conditions of entry. Those planning to bring along a vehicle should check the accepted-vehicle guidelines before attending. Display entry is currently $15 for cars and $10 for motorcycles, with the event continuing its support for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
There is more to Classic Cars and Coffee than the cars themselves. It is a chance to meet people who share an appreciation for craftsmanship, motoring memories and a good local gathering. The organisers also offer a newsletter for upcoming-event news, and have partnered with the Brain & Cognitive Function Clinic on a Driver Enhancement Program focused on reaction time, concentration and coordination.
The next dates in the calendar are Sunday 2 August, Sunday 13 September, Sunday 4 October and Sunday 1 November 2026. The August event is scheduled for 9am to 11am under the winter timetable, while the September, October and November gatherings are listed from 8.30am to 10.30am.
