If you’re a bit of a foodie – you’d like to know there’s a great indoor market in the southwest town of Busselton! You’re sure to discover a delicious bite or gift on a visit to Origins Market. It’s not in the middle of town, just on the fringes, near Busselton’s Kmart and Aldi – just look for the tractor!
The Origins Market have brought together local makers and growers, from around WA. There are market stalls, plus a dining area with many food vendors. It makes it a great place to visit for a cheap and casual meal in Busselton, as well as somewhere to explore if the weather is rainy.
When I visited on a long weekend, the indoor market was busy. First, I browsed the food and drink vendors, which are all happy for you to stop for a yarn and a tasting. I was surprised to find businesses from around Western Australia, not just in the south-west here. The Perth Hills’ Core Cider is there, as well as the Swan Valley’s Mandoon Estate/Homestead Brewery.
There’s also a treasure trove of handcrafted goodies. From locally-made jewelry to beautifully hand-painted ceramics, many unique finds waiting to be uncovered. They make great gifts, or why not treat yourself?
It’s hard to resist the delicious aromas wafting through the markets, there’s a brilliant bakery here, as well as the food court. Take your pick from Italian, Cuban, Japanese, Filipino, Korean, Burgers, Mediterranean and more. You’re bound to find something tasty!
If you have grandkids in tow, Origins Market has a small, soft fall playground to keep little ones amused. Aimed at younger children, the play area is conveniently next to the dining area, perfect for dining while kids explore the equipment. If they’re good, treat them to a lollypop, doughnut or ice cream from one of the stalls!
Origins Market celebrates the best of Western Australia through its creators, makers and growers. Be sure to support local! Whether you’re looking for a special souvenir, a unique gift, or a tasty meal, you’ll find it here. Be sure to pay a visit!
