Simmos Ice Creamery, Dunsborough

Simmos

Is it possible to visit the south west and not go to Simmos Ice Creamery Dunsborough?! If you’re staying in the area, near Busselton or Yallingup – this tasty spot will be sure to please everyone – particularly the grandkids.

The multi-award- winning spot produces over 100 different flavours of ice cream. A huge range of  sixty flavours are on display each day at their cafe. If you have a food allergy or intolerance, Simmo’s have plenty of ice creams and sorbets that are gluten free, dairy free and egg free. So no one has to miss out on the cold stuff. The flavour choice constantly changes, but expect to see combos like crème brulee, Ferrero Rocher, orange choc chip, Coffee crunch, blueberry yoghurt, fruity fig with salted caramel, and fairy floss. There’s even more substantial desserts on offer; old fashioned sundaes, banana split and hot waffles with ice cream. Yum!

I enjoyed scoops of  “Meringue, Blueberry & White chocolate”. While the gentlemen in our group loved the rum ‘n raisin ice cream.

The shady grounds of Simmo’s Icecreamery are lovely for a wander while you eat your ice cream cone. There are a few tables, as well as free BBQ’s and a big playground for the grandkids. You could easily spend an hour or two here. Don’t forget to say hi to Edward the emu. But hang onto your ice-creams – he has a long neck!

And that’s not all! Simmos is also home to “Goofy Golf”. The challenging 18 hole mini golf course is lots of fun and set in beautifully manicured gardens. We’ve been to Simmos Ice Creamery Dunsborough many times for a scoop or two. We’ll continue our tradition for years to come I’m sure.
