Sunny Social, Karrinyup

Sunny Social Karrinyup

Who knew one of Perth’s newest dining spots was tucked away at Hamersley Public Golf Course? The recently redeveloped leisure hub has to be one of Perth’s premier golf destinations. Now, it’s not just for golfers – the breezy and bright Sunny Social restaurant is fast becoming a popular spot for a leisurely lunch with friends.

The restaurant, aptly named Sunny Social, lives up to its name with floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the space with natural light and offering sweeping views across the manicured practice greens. You don’t need to be a golfer to appreciate the tranquil outlook – watching players putting while sipping a crisp spritz is entertainment enough. Sunny Social isn’t you’re usual stuffy 19th hole. In fact, their signature drink here is a summery spritz, so that says it all really.

The menu is modern Australian with a lean towards share plates and pizzas. If you prefer to go it alone – burgers, fish n chips, a chicken schnitty and a “golf” club sandwich are also winners.

I particularly enjoyed the velvety soft La Delizia Buratta with pistachio pesto.

Corn ribs (yes, that is a thing) with feta and chipotle mayo is also a tasty dish.

And I also enjoyed the meaty chorizo with romesco sauce.

The service is friendly, and the restaurant is easily accessible (with plenty of ramps). They’ve done a wonderful job with the interior – modern, fresh and comfortable without being too fancy and intimidating.

Bookings are recommended, they are open 7 days and very popular. The pricing is reasonable for the quality of food and setting. Be sure to check out their state-of-the-art driving range too – it’s lots of fun.

Whether you’re planning an after golf catch-up with friends, a casual family lunch, or just want to try somewhere new, Sunny Social is hitting birdies (of the golfing kind!).
