The Carlisle Collective, Carlisle

The Carlisle Collective

Found in the inner-city suburb of Carlisle, just a hop skip and jump from Vic Park, The Carlisle Collective offers a quirky, retro shopping experience that’s perfect for those seeking something beyond an ordinary shopping center. This creative co-op space brings together an array of small local businesses under one roof, creating a vibrant community hub that’s well worth a visit.

The collective’s diverse range of “residents” are independent shops all with unique offerings.

Browse through Retro World for nostalgic analogue treasures (think cassettes, CDs, VHS, stereos and more), discover natural beauty at Samantha’s Crystals, or find charming vintage pieces at The Vintage Brocante.

The Vintage Brocante really caught my eye. This little shop is packed with vintage treasures, “with a feminine touch”. It’s beautifully curated by owner Beth.

There’s vintage and vintage-inspired clothing.

As well as beautiful homewares and other goodies.

Plant enthusiasts will appreciate Tiny Trees & Terrariums.

While those with a craving for caffeine can enjoy a cuppa and gourmet toasties at Wild Oats Coffee. This takeaway window has outdoor seating and welcomes dogs.

And the coffee is great!

The welcoming atmosphere from the vendors makes it an ideal destination to spend a leisurely morning or afternoon browsing. The collective offers a more relaxed pace and it’s lovely to chat to the passionate shopkeepers who are happy to share their knowledge. For parking, drive down the laneway with bright mural and there’s plenty of spots to park at the rear.

You’ll also find another treasure trove, not strictly part of The Carlisle Collective, but right next door. Be sure to poke your head into Shed 32.

There’s lots of mid-century furniture, all in great condition.

As well as a lot of vinyl (mostly secondhand) for sale.

Beyond shopping, The Carlisle Collective hosts various workshops, from fairy cake decorating to terrarium building. These hands-on activities provide wonderful opportunities to learn new skills, express creativity, and connect with like-minded people in the community. For those seeking a shopping experience with character, community spirit, and unique finds, The Carlisle Collective offers an alternative to mainstream retail. Whether you’re hunting for a special gift, looking to pick up a collectable, or simply wanting to enjoy a coffee, this hidden Perth gem deserves a spot on your must-visit list.

I’m so pleased I stopped by for a sticky beak! The Carlisle Collective is a brilliant spot for a browse.
